My first foray into beat production...

Thursday, January 9, 2014

Click on the above pic to hit the Bandcamp page of 'The Reflex'. No, they are not a Duran Duran cover band, but this production outfit has made a brilliant record of edits of some massively famous songs from some massively famous artists, i.e. The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads, etc. It's exceptionally good and I suggest you drop your $15 as quickly as you can...I did!

BLAME IT ON THE EDIT: VOLUME TWO

I finally made another edit mix. My first Blame It On The Edit mix is now almost 3 years old, so we needed an update. This one features all of the very cool edits I drop on the regular in the nightspots. Featuring re-works, re-touches and re-edits from Maars, Frenzie, Tony Johns, Sanfrandisko, Butcher and Copycat, this mix jams!!!! I also managed to cut up a couple of live mash-ups from the TABU set Mark Baker (A Bakers Dozen) and I created a couple of years back that I always dug, plus a couple very slight re-rubs from myself that are OK. Enjoy!!!

A couple of cheeky edits for ya...

Here's a bomb edit spliced together with my man, A Bakers Dozen, a couple of years back. We gotta get back together, cuz this always get heads up off their arses...

While I'm at it, here are a few more we concocted. If you ever wondered what Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hopeton Lewis, a Harlem choir and Jamaican ska have (had) in common, then look no further (lol):

Found this by accident, but it kicks. Nina Simone sounding quite lively...I suggest you pop onto this Soundcloud page for plenty of good mixes.

OMG!!! I love just about everything Freqnik & WDRE re-touch, but this is the best I've heard from them.

BLACK HEAT RADIO IS THE BESTEST!!!!

It doesn't get much better than my man, Mr Lob. His radio show is muy bueno and you will love it.

I'll be supporting Georgia Anne Muldrow & Dudley Perkins on Friday January 24th. TIX are flying out the door!!! Click on the flier below to peep their video of one of their dope jams...

An absolutely wicked edit from my man Shan Frenzie (Groove Therapy Radio, Sydney)...

Some very cool artwork...

Anyone going to this gig needs this mix for their ride...
